PVOH and PVA

Polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH, PVA or PVAl) is a water-soluble synthetic polymer. It is used in papermaking, textile chain sizing, as a thickener and emulsion stabilizer in PVAc adhesive formulations and a wide variety of coatings. It is colorless (white) and odorless. It is usually supplied as pearls or as solutions in water.

Applications

PVA is used in a variety of medical and food applications because of its biocompatibility, low tendency to protein adhesion, and low toxicity. Polyvinyl alcohol is used as an aid in suspension polymerizations. At Intercol, it is often used as a protective colloid for the production of polyvinyl acetate dispersions. Intercol's products are widely used in paper and packaging applications, as adhesives or coatings.

Contract manufacturing

Intercol has more than 50 years of contract manufacturing experience for emulsion polymers. Highly skilled chemists, engineers and a dedicated contract manufacturing manager are on hand to support your company's contract manufacturing needs.
